Excitement to disappointment

Going through my thread stash I found the last of my skein of Krystledawnes Mad Science I had put away for a special project. I just knew the perfect pattern for it; Jon Yusof's Merriment Doily! Eagerly I loaded the shuttles and tatted the entire afternoon away when much to my shock, disappointment and sadness I realized that I only had enough thread for HALF of the pattern! My heart is absolutely broken as I have really fallen in love with the ease and beauty of this pattern. I now don't know what to do with this beautiful little treasure! Any suggestions?

  2. Well, there's nothing that says that a doily has to be all one color. I would pick a color from the varigated and get a solid to match it, or just a color that would look well.... like a gold or a green. and do the other half the other color.
It will still look lovely. :o)

  3. You could turn it into a fan by adding some tatting for the handle.

  4. I think it could be a crown, a coronet or a piece of necklace.
